The Evolution of My Artistic Journey: From Nature to Urban Landscapes

Some of you were surprised to learn about my love for nature, while others have asked why I don’t paint it anymore. Reflecting on these questions reminded me of how my artistic journey has evolved over the years.

nature inspired my early work. image of a tree overlooking water with green and pink colors.

As artists—and as people—we grow and change. I started my creative journey as a young girl, sketching on anything I could find, driven by dreams of becoming a painter. Life’s twists took me through travel, living in various countries, and the fullness of motherhood, which temporarily pulled me away from art. But when the time was right, I returned to my studio, reconnecting with my passion and teaching art along the way.

There was a time when I painted forests and landscapes, drawing on my love for nature. Later, the vivid scenery of Germany and Turkey influenced my work, adding bold colors and sweeping views. Today, I am captivated by the beauty of the man-made world, buildings, cities, and architectural details. I find inspiration in textures, stories, and isolated moments within urban settings.

Will I paint nature again? Never say never! Perhaps one day, the natural world will intertwine with my urban explorations.

The beauty of this journey is that everything we live and paint becomes part of who we are. Each phase adds depth, making our art and our lives richer.
